THE PERFECT WEEKEND: TOWN AND COUNTRY

Four nights, two food-loving homes, one amazing experience.

Tara Stevens has teamed up with Café Clock’s, Mike Richardson to create a Moroccan food experience for anyone looking for something extra special.

You’ll spend 2 nights at Dar Namir in the Fez Medina, 2 nights at the Scorpion House in the holy town of Moulay Idriss, combining seasonally inspired cooking classes with rooftop dinners, countryside walks with lavish picnics, olive oil and wine tastings with tours of local markets.

Day 1
Arrive at Dar Namir. Spend a leisurely morning settling in before heading into the medina for an authentic street food lunch of bessara (traditional fava bean soup seasoned with cumin and harissa), chermoula fried sardines and Rachid’s khobz kefta (the local answer to a burger). Stroll home via the market in r’Cif to pick up ingredients for a late afternoon cooking class followed by dinner paired with boutique Moroccan wines.

Day 2
Breakfast on the roof terrace, then plenty of free time to explore the medina on your own. Indulge in a hammam and massage in the afternoon before heading over to one of our favourite medina restaurants for sunset drinks on their roof terrace before a Franco-Moroccan inspired supper in their beautiful courtyard dining room. Transfer from Dar Namir to restaurant and back included.

Day 3
Breakfast on the roof terrace then private transfer to Moulay Idriss via the scenic route. Stop for photo opportunities and lakeside views before continuing on to the iconic roman ruins of Volubilis, followed by a visit to a local olive oil mill for a tasting and chance to buy the regions very own ‘liquid gold’. Settle in to the Scorpion House then spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing before a supper of local delicacies on one of the property’s several terraces.

Day 4
Breakfast at the house before a morning hike through local countryside. You’ll end up at a beauty spot where you’ll fill up on a lavish picnic paired with regional wines. Back at the Scorpion House you’ll have a free afternoon to siesta or explore alone before a light, farewell supper.

Day 5
